My Practice

I am a Board Certified psychiatrist with over fifteen years of clinical experience since my graduation from residency. While I maintain a general practice in psychiatry, areas of expertise include psychopharmacology, psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, and work with patients suffering from medical illness; I have completed formal fellowships in these areas at Cornell, Columbia, and Memorial Sloan Kettering.

My formal training in the above areas allows me to do the most thoughtful and comprehensive evaluations of patients, from emotional, physical, and neuropsychiatric perspectives. You can feel confident that I take my time and examine your emotional experience and history with care and concern, from which I can intelligently confer an appropriate diagnostic impression and treatment plan.

My affiliation with both the Cornell and Columbia medical community affords me access to the best psychiatric subspecialists New York has to offer. If, in the course of your consultation, I feel another specialist would better address your diagnostic or treatment goals, I will facilitate a referral to one of my exceptional colleagues.

Nothing matters more to me than the health and well being of my patients. Your concerns will be addressed with the utmost care and responsiveness. Messages are generally returned within a few hours, even on weekends, rarely longer. I almost always begin and end appointments promptly, showing respect for your time and that of the next patient. Any documentation or precertification is completed as quickly as possible. In summary, your treatment is my priority. I am here to listen, contemplate, formulate, and help.

I do, however, expect the same consideration of my time and effort as I give my patients. Over the past fifteen years, I have created and refined a Treatment Agreement that I consider to be fair and equitable for both my patients and myself. The agreement reflects a mutual respect for my commitment to helping you, the patient, and the time and effort required to do so competently. At first glance, the agreement may appear stringent; however, I feel that an organized, clear understanding of the structure of my practice is the best way to avoid misunderstandings or disappointments in the future. I ask that all prospective patients review the Treatment Agreement carefully before making an appointment for a consultation.

Thank you for visiting my site and considering my practice in the important decision of finding a psychiatrist. Should you present for a consultation, I will put forth my best effort to help you accomplish your treatment goals.
